I’ve said this before but it worth saying again: I am so happy the College Board editted their course approval process. We no longer have to frett over a single syllabus, constantly editted and resubmitted, only to have it denyed to the point where you are wondering if it will ever get approved!
For AP Computer Science Principles, when you go to submit your course approval, you will be able to choose from a list of endorsed curriculum providers.
Now, I’m the type of teacher who loves to make my own way in the word and “cherry pick” activities and assignments that fit well with my students. Because of this, I created my own curriculum and I use various resources from the above curriculum providers.
When it comes time for the course audit, I choose the endored curriculum provider that I use the most (Edhesive) and adopt their syllabus. I make sure that I do follow all of their requirements, but I do it in my own order while also adding in extra content and activities.
In my TPT store, I have my AP Compter Science Principles curriculum posted. This contains the guided notes I have created and used in class as well as the multiple choice assessments I have created as well. I have only these resources included because they are the only ones I have made myself.
The curriculum fills in the gap for teachers who want to use the activities and lessons you find online, but you also want to provide guided notes and content to your students as well.
My syllabus for the class is avaiable for FREE download below. Because of the new course approval process, this is the syllabus I provide to students, to discuss the expectations and course sequencing. Feel free to use it in your own classroom!
