About Me

My Story

I am Kayla Goldschmidt (hence the name, “Goldie”), a 30-some-year-old math and computer science teacher in the Midwest!

My education journey started in undergrad, where I entered school as a Physics major, hoping to make a career in Astronomy. After a few semesters, I realized that I found so much joy in “the math”, that I switched to an Applied Math major. During that time, I took multiple computer science classes and also got my associate’s degree in math and science education. I found out I had a great way of explaining concepts, and I wanted to make my life’s mission to do just that!

I started teaching in the classroom in 2013 and was thrown headfirst into teaching AP Statistics and AP Computer Science A with no support. There was no curriculum for me, no College Board CED, and I really felt like I was drowning. I created my own curriculum over the course of a few years of teaching the material and getting my master’s degree in curriculum design.

Once I gained some experience and success in the classroom, I made it my mission to help other teachers by providing them with quality resources to use in their own classrooms. I believe in giving teachers editable, digital resources to use in their classes, because every teacher has unique needs! Teachers need their curriculums to work with them, and my life’s work is now dedicated to helping teachers reach their full potential in the high school classroom.

I took time out of the classroom to welcome my fourth child, and have been enjoying helping teachers across the world implement my curriculums successfully. Goldie’s is now in all 50 States, and 18 countries across the world, and I’m ready to help YOU achieve your highest potential.
